Family History in the making

Who would have known that back in 1991 when an italian family bought a small
pizza shop in Lower Plenty that it would grow to become a fast paced and fresh new pizza innovation.

Run predominantly by family members in the beginning, Margherita's now sustains an amazing 40 employees ranging in age from the mid teens to the early 50's. In 2001, ownership became Richard's full time passion and it was then that he decided Margherita's had outgrown its home and drastic renovations were underway within months.

The 'new look' pizza shop was the beginning for an exciting new era both for Margherita's and for all the staff fortunate to be part of the company. The modern new design was an open plan layout allowing the customer to view all their food being prepared and freshly cooked in front of them.

As well as the physical changes to Margherita's there were management positions created. Now, more employees are undertaking various traineeships under Margherita's roof, making it not only a fantastic place to work but a great training ground for skills in the hospitality industry.

In 2008 we launched our new look corporate profile. Part of Margherita's commitment to continually be fresh and innovative especially with our fine foods.
